Sarah Newton lets us down over Brexit - again

Conservative MP Sarah Newton has voted against the amendment designed to avoid a no-deal Brexit that would be damaging for Cornwall.

‘Super Saturday’ saw hundreds of thousands of people marching in London, including four coachloads of Cornish protestors. Meanwhile, our candidate Ruth Gripper took to the streets of Truro with Cornwall for Europe to talk to people about what was happening.

Commenting, Ruth Gripper said: “People here are really anxious about what is happening – it is a very uncertain time.

"Boris Johnson's deal will damage our economy, remove vital workers' rights and lower environmental standards. The Conservative government has made a complete mess of this over the past three years, and we still don't know where Labour stands.

"The Liberal Democrats will continue to campaign to give the people the final say on this deal, which will shape our country for years to come."

Ruth Gripper, Truro and Falmouth's Lib Dem candidate, and Florence MacDonald, Lib Dem candidate for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle, joined the Cornwall for Europe stand in Truro
